Our Menu

Our menu is a celebration of Thai cuisine, featuring classic dishes like Pad Thai and Green Curry as well as lesser-known specialities like grilled specialities from North-East Isan region of Thailand, such as Ko Moo Yang. We also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, so everyone can enjoy our food. Our menu is constantly evolving, so there's always something new to try!

Our Location

We are located in the heart of Newtown on the northern end of King St, just steps away from the suburb's best shops, pubs, and other attractions. We offer both indoor and covered outdoor seating, so you can enjoy your meal in the sunshine or in the cosy ambiance of our dining room. We also offer takeout and delivery so you can enjoy our food wherever you are!

How are the spicy dishes cooked?

At Charles Thai, we cook our spicy dishes medium hot but if you prefer it mild or extra hot, please let our staff know when ordering.

What are the ingredients used in your dishes?

The ingredients used in our cooking may contain gluten, eggs, shell fish, milk, peanuts, sesame, and soya beans. If you have allergies or intolerance to any of the products, please advise our staff when placing your order.

How fresh are your ingredients?

Our ingredients are sourced multiple times a week from reputable high street butcher, seafood supplier and established wholesale suppliers supplemented by our own sourcing from Paddy’s market every weekend, ensuring top notch quality and freshness.

Are the dishes vegan friendly?

Vegan options are available. Please speak to a member of our staff who will be happy to assist with your ordering.

Is gluten free option available with your dishes?

Gluten free options are available. Please speak to a member of our staff who will be happy to assist with your ordering.

Are your dishes halal?

Unfortunately our dishes are not halal.

Do you provide delivery services for online orders?

We offer delivery services via our delivery partner Uber Eats.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes we accept all major credit cards. A small bank fee of 1.1% will be added to your bill.

Do you serve alcoholic drinks?

We do not sell alcoholic drinks but please feel free to BYO (a small corkage fee per person applies).

Do you have outdoor sittings?

Yes we do! We have a covered backyard garden patio for you to enjoy our delicious meals away from busy King St.

Do you cater for large groups?

Yes we do and you can choose to dine in the main dining room or in our covered backyard garden patio. Pre booking for group of more than ten patrons is required for dinner. Lunch is on a walk-in basis however do call us 1/2 hr prior and we will endeavour to accomodate your group.

Do you take table reservation?

Yes we do but only for dinner. Lunch is on on walk-in basis but we will endeavour to accomodate you in either our main dining or garden patio, but do call us 1/2 hour prior to check availability.
